OCMS Information

Dear OCMS Families,
Non-Traditional Instruction is not how I had hoped to be spending my first year as principal here at OCMS, but I believe myself to be an optimist and I know that our teachers and students are appropriately prepared to make the temporary transition to virtual learning.
As you have heard, we will be starting virtual learning/NTI on Monday, November 23rd, 2020, and will remain on virtual learning as long as legally required. While on NTI students will be tuning into their regularly scheduled classes via video conferencing.
Daily Video Conferencing Schedule:
1st period: 8:20 a.m. – 9:09 a.m.
2nd period: 9:14 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
3rd period: 10:05 a.m. – 10:51 a.m.
4th period: 10:56 a.m. – 11:42 a.m.
5th period: 11:47 a.m.
6th period: 1:22 a.m. – 2:08 a.m.
7th period: 2:13 a.m. – 3:02 a.m.
Attached you will find several documents explaining how NTI will work for your student. Our campus has also been added as a Free Meal Service Site for all children 18 years of age or younger. We will be distributing lunches on November 23rd & 24rd and November 30th – December 18th, 2020, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  Families will pull up to the school building at the bus port and will be handed their children’s meals. You will also receive a free breakfast for the following day.We hope to see all of you at those times!
I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for all your hard work in keeping our schools open and a success. It is because of our families and your support that we are able to do what we do here at OCMS.
Be watching for additional information via email in the coming weeks as we continue to work towards better ways to serve you. If you or your family has any questions or needs that we can assist with during this time please contact your child’s teacher or reach out to me, at [email protected].
I hope that everyone has a safe and relaxing Thanksgiving and I feel blessed to be able to work with you each and every day here at the middle school.
