Diocesan Safe Environment Requirements

As of July 1, 2014, the Diocese of Owensboro has adopted a Revised Sexual Abuse Policy and Procedure. Under these guidelines, all OCS employees and adult volunteers must complete four requirements in order to be Safe Environment compliant.

The diocese uses CMG Connect, developed by Catholic Mutual Group, to coordinate its compliance requirements. Online safe environment training and background checks must be current and updated every five years.

Diocese of Owensboro Employees and Volunteers

Required Online Safe Environment Training through CMG Connect

Once you have either  logged in or created your account with CMG Connect, you will be able to complete the following:

  • Safe Environment Training
  • Background Check
  • Policy Acknowledgement

Employees are required to have separate Child Abuse/Neglect (CAN) verification through the Kentucky Department for Community Based Services. This is all handled online through the Kentucky Online Gateway (KOG). Instructions are included in the hiring packet and through the Safe Environment or HR offices. Other diocesan policies for hiring of employees must also be followed.

All children registered in Catholic Schools or Parish Faith Formation programs must receive Safe Environment training each year, unless their parent/guardian have signed a formal opt-out form.
