Helping Our Daviess County Community

There are many ways that our schools try to connect our students with efforts that serve the marginalized and less fortunate families throughout Daviess County. There are also many other opportunities for our OCS families to join their children in serving these efforts as well. First, save the date for John Lanham Jam Day on October 28th at Yellow Creek Park, in the Pioneer Village. It’s a wonderful free day for the family and all proceeds and contributions generated will serve several local shelters, including St. Benedict’s.

Another way to serve the homeless is to clean out your garage and closet and give those used items that still work or can still be worn to the 5th and Walnut Thrift Store. 100% of the proceeds benefit St. Benedict AND the Daniel Pitino Shelter. Call 270-688-9000 for more information. Be sure to engage your children in efforts that serve others. The greatest reflection of how much we appreciate the life that has been entrusted to us is always expressed in our generosity to others! It’s an important lesson for our children to learn!
