Garvin brings a wealth of leadership experience and a deep commitment to Catholic education. Most recently, he served as Director of Faith Formation at Immaculate Catholic Church, where he led the K–8 religious education program, coordinated sacramental preparation, and worked closely with catechists, parents, and parish staff to support the spiritual development of children. His diverse background also includes experience in school administration, theology instruction, and business operations—demonstrating a strong combination of faith-based leadership, organizational excellence, and a passion for student success.
“I am excited to work with Steve and see the positive impact he will have on our students and staff,” said Tracy Conkright, Chief Education Officer for Owensboro Catholic Schools. “Steve brings many gifts to our system. He is deeply committed to his faith and has a strong desire to positively shape students’ lives. I look forward to what we will accomplish together.”
Garvin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. Meinrad College. He and his wife, Kim, have four children—two of whom currently attend Owensboro Catholic Schools. The Garvin family are active members of Immaculate Catholic Church.
“I am truly honored to begin this new chapter as principal of Owensboro Catholic Middle School,” Garvin said. “I look forward to walking alongside our students, families, and staff as we grow together in faith, academic excellence, and service to others.”
