“If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will save it. What does it profit them if they gain the whole world, but lose or forfeit themselves? Luke 9:22-25
As we begin the season of Lent, let’s reflect on what Jesus asks of us in Luke 9:22-25. He calls us to follow Him by denying ourselves, taking up our cross each day, and walking in His footsteps.
This season reminds us that true fulfillment doesn’t come from gaining the world, but from giving ourselves to Christ. While the world encourages us to seek comfort and success, Lent challenges us to let go of those things and focus on a deeper relationship with God.
By embracing the cross, we find life—not through what we hold onto, but by surrendering ourselves to Him.
