Holy Week 2025 Schedule
The season of Lent gives way to the celebration of Easter in Holy Week, the most sacred period of the liturgical calendar.
Holy Week includes both the Church’s most solemn observances and joyous feasts. Unique, beautiful liturgies fill the period of time that begins on Palm Sunday and culminates with Easter Sunday.
Holy Week 2025 is a great time to recommit to prayer and draw close to God. Be sure to check with your parishes for service times and take advantage of these beautiful liturgies!
- Chrism Mass– TONIGHT 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Join the Diocese of Owensboro for our annual Chrism Mass! There, the priests of the diocese will renew their priestly promises and Bishop Medley will bless the Oil of the Sick and Oil of Catechumens, and consecrate the Sacred Chrism. Representatives from parishes across Western Kentucky gather for this special liturgy, bringing back the blessed oils for use in their communities throughout the year.
- Maundy (Holy) Thursday – April 17
- Good Friday – April 18
*Reminder* on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, fasting rules allow Catholics to eat only one full meal and two smaller meals which, combined, would not equal a single normal meal. Additionally, Catholics may not eat meat on these two days–or on any Friday during Lent.
- Holy Saturday – April 19
- Easter Sunday – April 20
