The ideal candidate would be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church who has a master’s degree and has a passion for teaching adolescents. Minimum Qualifications:

· The Principal position requires a regular Kentucky Principal’s Certificate, a master’s degree with Principal endorsement and/or be working toward a Principal’s certification.

· A minimum of 5 years of teaching.

· Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic School philosophy, goals, and objectives.

· Must be a practicing Catholic.

· Must understand childhood development and the skills necessary to relate to the students being taught.

· Must have appropriate control and discipline techniques, which will enhance the learning environment.

· The ability to successfully complete a criminal history and background check.

Agriculture Teacher/ FFA Sponsor – Owensboro Catholic High School

Owensboro Catholic Schools is seeking applicants for a full-time Agriculture teacher and FFA Sponsor at OCHS. The ideal candidate would be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church who has an Education degree and has a passion for teaching adolescents. Essential Job Functions

· Provide daily Agriculture instruction for students in grades 9-12

· Use best practices to provide effective instruction and positive, consistent classroom management.

· Communicate with students, parents, and other stakeholders in a professional and positive manner

· Function as a cooperative, productive team member at OCHS

· Support and uphold the philosophy and mission of the Catholic Church and the Owensboro Catholic School System.

· Chair/Co-chair an extra-curricular club or student organization

Requirements and qualifications:

Have a passion for teaching adolescents

Education degree or teaching experience

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Must be self-motivated and self-directed with precise attention to detail

Goal-oriented, organized team player with positive attitude

Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required

The successful candidate must pass criminal background check and complete safe environment training for the Diocese of Owensboro before employment can be granted

Substitute Health Room Assistant

Qualified applicant will serve as a Substitute Health Room Assistant on an “as needed” basis for any of the Health Rooms of the four OCS Campuses.

Job Description: Provide basic first aid and emergency care to students and staff, administer routine medication and selected prescribed treatments as delegated by the School RN. Basic record keeping of Health Room visits. Good communicate skills. Reports directly to the School RN and indirectly to the Principal of the designated school site.

Qualifications:

· Education- High School Graduate; College courses in Health Care preferred

· Experience- CPR, Basic First Aid, & Medication Administration preferred, but not necessary. This training will be provided upon hiring.

Description: We are looking for dedicated, responsible individual to serve as the Food Service Cook/Worker at Owensboro Catholic High School from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each school day.

Qualifications:

· Be able to frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds

· Have a strong attention to detail

· High school diploma or GED preferred

· Authorize employer to run Criminal Background Check prior to working

· Acceptable/Clear Background Check must be returned and approved by employer prior to working

· Complete Safe Environment Training prior to working

· After hired, candidate must complete Food Service training as required

Owensboro Catholic Schools – Substitute Teachers

Owensboro Catholic Schools is looking for Substitute Teachers. Substitutes may work at the K-3 Campus, 4-6 Campus, Middle School and High School. This is a non-contracted position and work availability varies based on need.

Position Summary: Provide continuation of instruction and management of students in absence of the regular teacher in a variety of content areas and grade levels.

Qualifications: 

Required:

  • Completion of 64 college credit hours and an official transcript for validation
  • Classroom Management Skills
  • Successfully complete a criminal history and background check

Preferred:

  • Be a retired teacher
  • Hold teaching certification or a Statement of Eligibility
  • Be a Teacher in Training. To qualify in the category, candidates must meet one of the following criteria
    • Be enrolled in a teacher education program and have completed 64 credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.5, or
    • Hold a Bachelor’s degree and have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours toward a Master’s degree in Education
  • Be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective continuation of instruction based on lesson plans and/or instructions provided by the regular teacher
  • Effectively communicate assignments and instructions to students and provide assistance
  • Follow all safety and emergency procedures established by the school
  • Supervision of students using proper classroom management techniques
  • Provide detailed notes and feedback to the regular teacher
