Owensboro Catholic Schools is seeking applicants for Facilities Manager.  The Facilities Manager will oversee all buildings and grounds, maintenance and custodial work for our four campuses.  The ideal candidate will be a working manager with a trade background (electrical, plumbing, carpentry) and will be responsible for scheduling daily custodial routines, training new maintenance employees, planning and scheduling maintenance and upgrades, and working with third-party vendors.  The Facilities Manager must have the leadership and organizational skills to work with a volunteer Buildings and Grounds Committee. 

Duties include:

Planning building maintenance and operations programs

Ensuring efficiency of all building systems

Preparing reports and budgets

Maintaining a safe work environment for all employees

Managing facilities planning and space allocation

Preparing cost estimates for equipment and relocations

Managing maintenance of grounds

Ensuring all utility systems are inspected and in accordance with regulations

Negotiating bids and contracts for third-party vendors/workers

Managing and supervising all facilities personnel

Overseeing all building functions

Coordinating custodial issues and schedules.

Requirements and qualifications:

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Must be self-motivated and self-directed

Goal-oriented, organized team player with positive attitude

Accurate and precise attention to detail

Strong verbal/written communications skills with supervisors, staff and outside vendors

Able to encourage, mentor and lead team and staff

Experience with compiling and following strict budgets

Previous experience in maintenance supervision or related field required

High school diploma; additional degrees preferred, but will consider any related building maintenance experience

Physically able to stand, bend, squat, stoop, reach with hands and arms, climb and lift up to 50 lbs

Good computer skills required for scheduling, e-mail, calendars, facilities and other software

Must adhere to company philosophy/mission statement/company policies and procedures

Must pass a drug screen, criminal background check and complete safe environment training

The Diocese of Owensboro has a job opportunity for an Administrative Assistant in the Catholic Schools Office. This position is located at the McRaith Catholic Center in Owensboro, KY. The Diocese of Owensboro encompasses 78 parishes and 17 schools in western Kentucky.

Position Summary: Working under the supervision of the Superintendent of Catholic Schools, the full-time administrative assistant oversees and manages all office procedures and other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent.


  • Associate’s degree in business-related field preferred or high school graduate with five years office experience
  • Must be a team player and possess the ability to relate to a variety of persons
  • Capable of self-direction, multi-tasking, organization and prioritizing work
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as strong writing skills
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job

  • Possess good writing and problem-solving skills
  • Successfully complete a criminal history and background check
