St. Teresa of Avila once said, “To have courage for whatever comes in life–everything lies in that.”
During this time of unexpected distance- and e-learning, I believe we are being called by God to have courage, and to trust in Him. He designed us to be resilient and creative; our middle school teachers (who are quite possibly the most creative of the OCMS bunch), staff, and administration have been working tirelessly over the last several days to ensure the continued success of OCMS students.
At Owensboro Catholic Middle School, I’m usually available to meet with students throughout the day. Right now, that’s simply not possible. However, I intend to continue providing school guidance counseling services to OCMS students through a few new online tools. Please, read my messages for parents/guardians and students below.
If you would like to request a meeting with me, please email me to schedule a date and time to meet on Zoom, a video conferencing platform. If I am in my office, I will be able to take phone calls. Of course, however, you may always communicate with me via email at [email protected]
You may also me to schedule a time to meet with me on Zoom, a video conferencing platform. We can use this time to discuss things we normally would have at school. If I am in my office, I will be able to take phone calls! Of course, however, you may always communicate with me via email at [email protected]
Everything you say in these meetings, phone calls, and emails are completely confidential unless a student’s safety is in danger.
This is some tough stuff going on around us right now! While we’re doing NTI in order to slow the spread of COVID-19, it is important to retain some sense of belonging, community, and normalcy for our students. I have been exploring ideas of how we can do just that! Parents/guardians, please keep an eye out for emails from me regarding virtual one-on-one and group counseling sessions.
Please, don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, suggestions, etc.!
