A Special Announcement from the Diocese of Owensboro

After 40 years in education, the last 13 years serving the Diocese of Owensboro as Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Jim Mattingly is announcing today that he will be retiring effective July 31, 2017.

Jim says it’s hard to express what these last 13 years have met to him and his family.  “It has been a joy and privilege to serve the diocese and to work with the many educators that have mentored the many children that have gone through the Catholic education system throughout the diocese.  Each of your devotion and loyalty has inspired me over the years.  I am very grateful for the last 40 years.”

Jim goes on to say, “I have loved my job and my co-workers here at the McRaith Catholic Center.  I would especially like to thank Bishop Medley for his support and express my appreciation to Bishop McRaith for giving me a great opportunity to serve in the Diocese.  I won’t be far away.  Just stop in or give me a call.  Please continue to pray for me as I will for you”.

OCS would like to thank Jim for all he has done in support of our schools!
