Throughout the fall at Owensboro Catholic Middle School, students have participated in various activities to celebrate their faith, show their school spirit, and raise community awareness.
While learning about El Dia de los Muertos, students in Mrs. Ochoa’s Spanish class created ofrendas as a way to celebrate and honor their loved ones. Other students created paper-mache alebrijes.
For our fall community service project, students brought in canned goods that were donated to several food pantries throughout the county. During the canned food drive students participated in a door decorating contest, free dress days, and a can-struct competition. A good time was had by all, but most importantly, we were able to donate hundreds of canned goods to several food pantries.
