We appreciate what you are doing to keep your children healthy and in school, and we continue to do everything we can to assure their health and safety at school. The protocols we have in place are working and are becoming more routine with each passing day.
Now that DCPS has announced that they will begin a hybrid schedule on September 14th, inquiries about bussing have increased. If transportation has not been an issue for you thus far this year, we strongly encourage you to continue to do what you are doing!
If bussing is a true necessity, then students may begin to ride the bus on Monday, September 21th. This will give DCPS a week to run routes and to make whatever route and/or protocol changes that need to be made.
Be advised, that ALL STUDENTS will be required to wear a mask the entire time they are on the bus. Limited service and days of the week will be available at the beginning, and will be expanded as allowed. We will provide more information regarding this in the coming days.
Here is what the early riding schedule may look like –
OCS families with last name (A-K) will be able to ride the bus on Mondays and Tuesdays only.
OCS families with last names (L-Z) will be able to ride the bus on Thursdays and Fridays only.
At this time there are no high school students allowed on the busses.
Wednesdays will remain a day that you will need to provide your own transportation.
This Part is Very Important:
In order to help plan appropriate bus routes –
Please email ([email protected]) if you plan to use the bus on Monday/Tuesday for A-K families – no later than Friday, September 11th at 5 p.m. Please provide Parent Name, Student Name, Address, Email, and if you will ride Morning / Afternoon / or both.
Please email ([email protected]) if you plan to use the bus on Thursday/Friday for L-Z families – not later than Friday, September 11th at 5 p.m. Please provide Parent Name, Student Name, Address, and Email, and if you will ride Morning / Afternoon / or both.
Again, thank you for your patience, your cooperation, and your understanding! Everyone wants this to work, and to work well. And if we proceed incrementally, we feel certain we can do this successfully.
