Red Ribbon Week at OCMS!

Red Ribbon Week’s official dates for 2019 are Oct. 23rd through Oct. 31st. We have lots of exciting things planned including a poster contest, themed dress up days, homeroom door decoration contest, a presentation from Owensboro Catholic High School’s SCRUBS students, and several opportunities to win prizes!

Red Ribbon Week is sponsored by the National Family Partnership; this anti-drug campaign is a way for schools and communities to “unite and take a visible stand against drugs” (Red Ribbon Week Official Website). This year’s theme is “Send a message. Stay drug free.” The idea behind the theme is to lead each other and steer away from drug usage and abuse. In other words, we are encouraging our students this week and next to lead by example and “Stay drug free!”

Please, review this year’s Red Ribbon Week information for OCMS below: this packet of information–divided into two links–will have been sent home with students Tuesday, Oct. 22nd.
