Due to the increase in food allergies, the K-3 Campus does NOT allow ANY birthday treats to be brought to school. We know how important birthdays are to young children, and will make sure that your child has a special day.
If your child comes to school with treats for the class, we will have to send them back home. In order not to have disappointed children, we appreciate your help in following this policy.
Snack Policy: Snacks brought in must be brought in an individual baggie, container, or individually wrapped. Parents will no longer be allowed to send snacks for the entire class. Below is an approved snack list, which was generated from the snacksafely.com website.
Nutri-Grain Cereal Bar
Rice Krispie Treat
Fresh Fruit (apple wedges, orange slices, banana, blueberries, grapes, etc.)
Keep in mind this is to ensure the safety of all children and to give parents guidelines for what kind of snacks to send to school. You may visit the www.snacksafely.com website and see other snack options.
Please, do not send candy for a snack.
DO NOT send snacks that have peanut butter. Some children with peanut allergies are very sensitive and if your child has peanut oil on their fingers, it could cause an allergic reaction.
- Peanut butter is served in the cafeteria, but it is in a controlled environment and safety precautions are in place.
