OCHS Students Learn Service Through Action

Chicago good works 2013Some former and current Owensboro Catholic students attended a week long mission trip in Chicago, Illinois this summer through the Young Neighbors in Action program. The students felt they went to Chicago to help maybe change someone’s life, but in the end, they found out they were the ones changed by this experience. Young Neighbors is a program under the Center for Ministry Development.  It teaches the 7 themes of Catholic Social Teaching through activities, through witness of speakers, but also through living it out in the work that was accomplished in Chicago during the week.  The students caught the happiness and respect of the residents and passed it on.  They were great ambassadors for Catholic youth in Owensboro.
