Academics
Owensboro Catholic Middle School provides a wide curriculum of various programs which include accelerated classes, allowing students to earn OCHS credits in language and math. Remedial classes are also available.
Other specialty areas include computers, band and language.
OCMS recognizes the accomplishments of its students through varous programs:
- Honor Roll
- Accelerated Reader Program
- Student of the Month recognizes 7th and 8th grade students based on recommendations from teachers, coaches and extra-curricular sponsors.
- Honors Assembly recognizes the accomplishments from all year of its students.
The Owensboro Catholic Schools can boast the highest composite scores in the region and exceed national and state averages on the ACT, PLAN and EXPLORE tests!
Our students particpate in the Duke Talent Search, which allow students to take the ACT or SAT test.
Honor Roll Criteria
Report cards are issued quarterly. One way to measure academic success is to qualify for the honor roll. At OCMS there are three categories for the honor roll. The criteria for each is as follows:
