PLAY 60
Our theme this year at the Elementary K-3 Campus Cafeteria is PLAY 60.
We will be encouraging the students to be mindful of healthy food
choices and encouraging them to play 60 minutes each day to keep their minds and bodies alert. Healthy and active children make better students. Each month we will have fun activities for the students to help encourage Play 60 and help them learn to make healthy food choices.
We are excited here at the Elementary K-3 Cafeteria to begin serving your children a nutritious breakfast and lunch. Lisa Zogleman,
Jennifer Krampe-Self, Jane Lanham, Vicki Kennedy, and I are looking forward to another great year. We enjoy being able to provide your child with a healthy meal in a positive, Christian environment.
*Each student has a pin # (kindergarten students will be given a number their first day). The pin # will remain the same each year. Students will punch in their pin # each time they make a purchase at the cafeteria.
*Money may be added to your child’s account at any time. Some parents put money in weekly or monthly whatever works best for you. Basically you prepay and the child’s account spends down with each purchase. Check or cash is accepted. A check is preferred; we can track payments much better with a check. Always put your child’s name and pin # on payments. All students are required to maintain a positive balance.
*Notes will be generated at the beginning of each week and sent to students if their balance is negative. Unless requested by the parent no other notes will be sent. Notes are sent as a courtesy to help you keep track of your child’s spending. If your child receives a note, please pay promptly and remember they need to keep a positive balance. If a second note is sent the following week an alternate lunch will be served until the account is paid. Alternate lunch consist of a peanut butter sandwich and milk or juice. (cheese and crackers if the student has nut allergies)
*Students may purchase extras if it is available. Students will only be allowed to purchase extras if the permission slip attached is signed and returned to school. This is new this year, please sign and return if your child may purchase extras.
*Free and reduced meal forms are available at the school and must be filled out each new school year. If you have children at different school campuses a form needs to be filled out for each campus. We encourage everyone to fill out these forms. As always, these are kept confidential.
Milk or Juice is served with each meal. Water is always .50 extra even if the student doesn’t take their milk or juice. Water cannot be served as part of the meal component price. This is a federal lunch program regulation.
Thank you
