Box Top for Education
The OCES PTO recently received a check for $1,637.22 for the Box Top for Education program. This is fantastic for something you would normally throw away! Keep bringing in those box tops! Thank you to all the parents and friends who have turned in the box tops to our schools! Every little bit helps!

LOOK WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE 4-6 CAMPUS
The students in Mrs. Glenn’s social studies class have been studying the Civil War. They are making a scrapbook of the Civil War. They are using the internet, textbooks, encyclopedias, and other resources to find the information on people, places and events during this time period.

The fourth grade classes recently participated in their quarterly spelling bee. The winners were:
Lucy Kurtz -1st Place
Luke Gray – 2nd Place
Jack Boarman, 3rd Place
Fantastic Job!
Last week, Mrs. Sherry Krampe, our school nurse, visited Mrs. Hardesty’s and Mrs. Castlen’s fifth grade students to discuss proper hygiene.

Last Friday, each fourth grade student decorated a stick horse and hat to run in a Derby Race. It was quite an event! The winners of the Derby were:

Jakob Schuler – 1st Place
Nolan Elder – 2nd Place
Jonathan Garner – 3rd Place
Spotlight on Music
The National Federation of Music Clubs celebrates National Music Week from May 4-11. The students represent the theme of the national club with their musical fun and liturgical sharing. The theme observed locally by the Saturday Musicale is Music: A Sound Foundation for Life.

May 1st was National Prayer Day. This day was set aside to draw attention to the need for prayer in our daily lives and especially prayers for our country. OCES sent Kelsey Conkright, from the 4-6 Campus, and Benjamin Conrkight, from the K-3 Campus, as our representatives, joining others from all over the city and county to pray.
Grandparents Day
The students at the OCES 4-6 Campus welcomed grandparents to the school on May 1st. We were pleased to see so many grandparents and great-parents. Thank you, Grandparents, for coming to celebrate Mass with us and enjoying the reception in the school gym.
WOW!! We certainly were glad to see the Third Grade students and teachers at the 4-6 Campus on Tuesday! They spent some fun time with the fourth grade teachers, toured the school, and ate lunch with us. We will look forward to having them with us next year!
