In May, we will have a May procession on Wednesday, May 21st, at 8:15 AM.  We will also have a ceremony honoring Mary during our closing Mass on May 30th.  Please join us.

ocsCatholic School Educator of the Year

Each year parents are given the opportunity to nominate a teacher they feel deserves to be Educator of the Year.  The nomination form is attached.  We have many wonderful teachers at the 4-6 Campus.  Please take the time to nominate one of them.

ocsCafeteria News

All accounts must be paid in full by May 16th.  If you have questions about your child’s account or balance for the rest of the school year, please contact Ms. Becky.  May 16 will be the last day for Power Break and Extras.

ocsAccelerated Reader News

Since the students have earned their 25,000 points to go to the park, we are having a contest between all the classes to see which class can earn the most AR points for the year.  The winning class will receive an ice cream party.  The students will have until May 23rd to earn these points.

Those students who are reading to reach the 100 point clubs have until May 16th to earn their points.  This will give us time to schedule all the incentives.  Students who still need to reach their quarterly AR goal will have until May 23rd to earn the rest of their points.

ocsThank you …

…  to all who made Grandparents’ Day such a success: school committee members, students, grandparents,  PTO reception committee, Ms. Glenn’s class, and Father John Meredith, our celebrant on this special occasion.

… to the 2007-2008 PTO officers for a successful year.

Students in Mr. Calhoun’s sixth grade Science class worked with microscopes during a recent lab.  The students learned the proper technique to prepare a slide, mount it on the microscope and bring it into focus.  The students learned a great deal and enjoyed using the microscopes.

The Kentucky Youth Chorale will share a program with the OTCC Adult Choir on May 6th at 7 PM at Settle Memorial United Methodist Church.  All are invited to attend.   Lucy Kurtz, OCES 4th grader, is a member of the Youth Chorale. Bravo-Lucy!
