We Appreciate Mr. Jim Duffy
We thank Mr. Duffy for the years of dedication he has given the Owensboro Catholic School System. God blessed us with many gifts through his leadership. We hope he enjoys his retirement.
Notes
Thanks to Ms. Estes’ fourth grade students for leading us in prayer and song on Thursday. Good job!
We appreciate Fr. Carl McCarthy for celebrating Mass with us on May 15th.
On May 21st, Wednesday, we will have a Mary devotional at 8:15 AM. We thank Ms. Thompson’s class for preparing this service for us. Please join us.
Friday, May 30th, Fr. Richard Meredith will celebrate the closing Mass at 9 AM. We hope you can celebrate with us.
Yellow Creek Park
The students will be attending Yellow Creek Park on Friday, May 23rd as a reward for earning over 25,000 AR points this school year. Please read the attached information, sign the permission slip and return to school by Wednesday, May 21st. Students will not be able to attend the field trip without the permission slip.
If you are planning on going to the park and eating with us, please contact Ms. Becky by Wednesday, May 21st to make your lunch reservations.
Cafeteria News
Letters went home on Monday concerning your child’s lunch account. All lunch accounts should have been paid in full by Friday, May 16th.
On Friday, May 30th, we will be serving Little Caesar’s Pizza for lunch. Please fill out the attached sheet if your child plans to eat lunch that day and if he/she would like any extra pieces. Extra pizzas will not be charged. Please make sure your child has the money for extra pizzas in his/her account. Order forms must be turned in by Wednesday, May 21st .
Meet and Greet Ms. Flaherty
On Wednesday, May 21st, you are invited to meet and greet, Ms. Ann Flaherty, the new OCMS principal. Ms Flaherty will make brief remarks at 6 pm and then she will be available to families and students until 7 pm. Join us in welcoming her.
We Celebrate
We celebrate with several of our students who received the sacraments for the first time this school year.
Drew Harvey received the Sacraments of Initiation in April
Zachary Judd made his First Reconciliation and Communion in the fall
Jakob Shuler received Baptism and his First Communion this school year. We welcome them to the grace of these Sacraments.
Summer Birthdays
For those students who will celebrate their birthday in the summer months, the following schedule is attached for their non-uniform day. We wish our summer birthdays a “Happy Birthday!”

LOOK WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE 4-6 CAMPUS
Doodle 4 Google
The students during their computer classes designed entries for the Doodle 4 Google Contest. The following students were finalists for our school:

6th Grade - Abby Schueler, Aubrey Clark
Leslie Kuntz is one of the two state finalists from Kentucky. Congratulations!
Speech Contest Winners
Raychel Bahnick and Darcy James, two of the OCES 4-6 Campus students, are preparing to compete in the State Championship 4-H Speech Contest. These two students have qualified for this competition by competing in several preliminary events. Our prayers and best wishes go with them as they compete at the University of Kentucky on July 12th.
