I had every intention to compose this End-of-the-Year Director’s Corner yesterday. Fortunately I spent the day shuttling from one school to the other for Mass at the OCES 4-6 Campus, the 6th Grade Completion Ceremony and Reception, the Awards Ceremony at the OCES K-3 Campus and then the 8th Grade Graduation ceremony and dance. What an exciting day filled with beaming and excited students and families! Congratulations especially to our graduates (the senior class of 2012 included) as they complete a phase and are ready to transition to the next important step in their lives.
Throughout the day I was reminded the success we achieve through the lives of our students occurs because of the amazing and powerful partnership that is the backbone and foundation of Owensboro Catholic Schools – Parish, Families and School. That partnership allows us to purposefully and positively live our Mission of providing excellence in Catholic faith formation and academics. I find myself energized today with memories of smiling faces and the incredible sense that WE are doing God’s work and it shows. Thanks to all!
It is my hope and prayer that all have a summer full of fun, relaxation and family activity. Know that the preparations have already begun for the 2012-2013 school year.
With the end of the school year comes the question of when will report cards will be mailed? The question is amplified in a year where we actually were able to end before June 1. Please note the following:
I appreciate all you do to help us fulfill our mission of excellence in Catholic faith formation and academics. As always, your comments and insights are important to me. I can be reached via phone at 852-8028 and email at ken.rasp@owensborocatholic.org.
God’s Peace!
